Tom Cruise will star in Mission Impossible again. The statement was made by Paramount Pictures. The film will be released in 2011 and produced by Cruise and JJ Abrams.
Cruise and Abrams last time working together in 2006 in Mission: Impossible III. Cruise in the film acts as agent Ethan Hunt who fight against the criminals and save the world from villains, as quoted by Reuters.
The first two films Mission: Impossible generate 1 billion dollars in box office ladder. The third movie produced only 134 million dollars in the United States box office and was considered disappointing by observers box office, despite the 264 million dollars to dredge abroad proves Cruise still has traction in the international world.
Cruise’s image fades because of his loyalty to his convictions, namely Scientologi and also because the events in Oprah Winfrey Show, when he jumped from the couch to proclaim his love for actress Katie Holmes.
After Mission: Impossible III, Paramount cut ties with Cruise’s film production, and making a fourth film is still in question.
On Tuesday, Paramount said Cruise and Abrams, found the original idea for the fourth movie and return to work together. Abrams success last summer with the Star Trek movie.
“Tom and JJ both great talent and we are excited to work with them to start again this legendary franchise,” said Brad Gray Paramount Pictures leaders in a statement.
